Abstract
As a new solid-state welding technology, magnetic pulse welding technology realizes the metallurgical combination between metals by driving two metals to collide at high speed by pulsed electromagnetic force. It can effectively overcome the welding problems between dissimilar metals and contribute to the lightweight of the structure. The magnetic pulse welding method based on the uniform pressure electromagnetic actuator can provide a large area of uniform pressure area, help to increase the welding area, and can be used to realize large area plate welding. In this paper, the three-dimensional collision model of uniform pressure welding system is established by LS-DYNA software, and the deformation process of plate during welding is analyzed. Then, a high-performance magnet device was developed, a uniform pressure welding experimental platform was built, and welding experiments were carried out on AA1060 aluminum plate and SS304 stainless steel plate both with a thickness of 1mm. The results show that the welding method can well realize the connection of dissimilar metal plates.
