Abstract
Low-temperature plasma is under intensive investigation for many applications in biomedical, materials, environmental and chemical engineering. Mastering the non-invasive electric field measurement and diagnosis method of plasma has positive significance for the exploration of the mechanism of plasma in biology. In the paper, the effect of working gas types (O2 and N2) and concentrations on the electric field of Ar plasma jet is reported, and mothed of electric field-induced second harmonic (E-FISH) is used for the measurement work. Measuring results indicate that electric field intensity of Ar plasma jet first rise and then fall with the increase of the concentration of O2/N2. And the maximum electric field intensity of the argon plasma jet mixed with O2/N2 is 12.76kV/cm and 13.28kV/cm, which appears at the concentration of 0.1% and 0.7%, respectively. The analysis of collision ionization, adsorption ionization and Penning ionization help to understand this phenomenon.
