Abstract
Abstract – Grid-connected inverter system (GCIS) may generate resonance when inverter is connected to the weak grid. The output impedance of inverter is coupled with the inductance of the weak grid, and the damping of system is reduced. Active damper is a power-electronic apparatus which can damp resonance of GCIS. It can be seen as a virtual resistor to enhance system damping and mainly works around the resonance frequency. The detection of resonance frequency is a very important link for active damper. However, how to quickly and accurately detect the resonance frequency in real time is still not fully resolved. To alleviate this problem, this paper proposes a new structure called PSO-SOGI. This structure transforms the detection of resonance frequency into an optimization problem by means of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm and second-order generalized integrator (SOGI). Simulations on a 66kVA grid-connected inverter and the 10kVA active damper are carried out in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The results have verified the rapidness and accuracy of PSO-SOGI in detecting resonance frequency. In addition, the effectiveness of active damper based on PSO-SOGI in damping resonance has also been verified.
